X-Men # 1, 4 & 40 plus lot First Appearances Lee Kirby Steranko Adams. Yes, I'm really throwing in my # 1 into this solid lot of over 40 Silver and early Bronze Age X-Men! X-Men # 1 is in Fair/Good condition but complete, cream to off-white pages and attached at the staples. Sadly, several flaws are present; a name in pen in the top left corner (inside Cyclops), a 1-inch tear through Jean's right-hand, Marvel chipping, 1/2-inch spine-split at the bottom and very well read.
Several pieces of tape (yellowed) was used on the inside (the inside front cover being the worst as shown); Page 1, 3, 5 and the inside back cover has two pieces of tape, one piece for a ad and page 8. X-Men # 4 has severe spine roll and a 1/2- inch rip above QuickSilver and a 1/4-inch rip in his hair, complete with tan to cream pages. # 8 is a beautiful mid-grade with cream to off-white pages.# 14 has a 1 1/2-inch rip through Sentinels pinky on the right-hand side. Several issues are subscription copies (all break the color but some present very well); 16, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, 33, 36, 38, 39, 42, 44, 53, 56 and 58. # 52 has a loose but attached top staple, # 57 has rusty staples, # 59 has a detached top staple, # 63 has a detached bottom staple and # 43 has a detached cover but two new staples reattached it back. The average condition is VG with pages ranging from tan to white, all are complete and some are in beautiful mid-grade condition with great gloss and color!
