HIGH END Marvel Key Silver Bronze Comic Collection GS Xmen 1 ASM 121 129 Xmen 94. It had been quite awhile since we had received a good lead in Southern New Jersey, so we were happy when a call came in first thing on a Monday morning from an older gentleman claiming to have a large Marvel collection with the majority of the comics from 1980 or earlier. He was a soft spoken and friendly guy who did not boast about his collection but did mention three copies of Giant-Size X-Men #1 which got our immediate attention. He also mentioned a bunch of number one issues including Iron Man #1.
We were very interested and immediately setup a time to meet the next day and upon arrival after a 3 hour drive, we entered an older but elegant home on a beautiful sprawling property. He and his massive dogs welcomed us and we sat in his otherwise Off Limits library where we shared a soda and some pleasantries before looking at his large collection. The collection did not disappoint and was literally loaded with key issues.
We went through the comics together and enjoyed the stories from our host about his original collection (which didnt survive his time away at college) and his subsequent journeys to rebuild a collection. After looking at everything we closed the deal after a pleasant 15 minute negotiation. We packed the collection and headed back north to the office.
