Many are also complete (or near complete as some authors were dead at time of publication) signed sets. Together they comprise the entire American Science Fiction Small Press Collection from the Golden Age.
Many of these books had authors that were made famous during the earlier pulp magazine era; such as Robert E Howard, H P Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, Doc Smith, Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C Clarke to name only a very few. The Small Press Era lasted from 1935-mid 1960s. Considerably more if you live outside the United States. This collection is roughly the size of 30 "comic long boxes" to give you an idea of how large it is. Over a thousand pounds of books. It is effectively an entire library of the earliest science fiction books. Only a few pictures are above. However more pictures are available to seriously interested buyers. I took pictures of the books on their sides because in my experience the first thing to get damaged is usually wear to the top and bottom of the spines. As you can see from the pictures, there is no wear on most of them and they are virtually perfect.
That should give you an idea of how truly high grade these books are. There are roughly one thousand books in all (I never did an exact piece count). Most are high dollar value because of their condition or rarity. All are part of complete sets. Most are between 60 and 90 years old and still look brand new.
There are NO fake dustjackets. An exact list of all books is below. Includes the highest graded, and most extensive collections of these Science Fiction specialty small press sets in the world. Publishers and their additional imprints include: Abelard Press Science Fiction Arkham House/Mycroft Moran/Stanton Lee/Fedogan Bremer/Fedogan Bremer Mystery ASFO Avalon Avalon Science Fiction/Bourgey Curl Canaveral Press Carcosa Carcosa House Fantasy Press/Polaris Press Fictioneers F.Crawford/Visionary/Griffin/Crawford Frederick Fell Gorgon Press Gnome Press Grandon Greenberg Hadley/Grant-Hadley/Buffalo/F. New Collectors Group New Era N. Prime Press Shasta Torcon Train (Oswald) Twayne Winston Science Fiction Small press sets (listed alphabetically)- Please note, maybe 150 or so of the following books use to belong to famous people (mostly editors, authors, early members of fandom), however most arent listed as such below as there are no identification marks on many, and as such I cant prove it beyond my word. If there is some ownership info listed below next to a book, its because there is some sort of mark or signature inside the book proving it.
