Batman #1 to #4 #9 UNREAL FIND Holy Grail 1st Joker 1st Catwoman Robin DC. This is an incredible find! We were cleaning out an old estate in Vermont and found a big cedar chest filled with paper and old nick nacks and in an old dusty bag were Batman #1,2,3,4, & 9 wrapped in newspaper from the 1960s.
These comics have not seen the light of day in nearly 55 years! Its always a major occassion when you find a Batman #1 in any condition.
These examples are not complete but they are fresh to market and would make anyone's day to own. We have carefully gone through the comics and described each in detail. Batman #1 has seen a meteoric rise in value over the past few years and will continue to go up in value for years to come. Batman #1: This example has 32 original pages including the front cover. The Catwoman Story and the Giants of Hugo Strange Story are missing.
The pages are slightly brittle and there is glue on the inside of the front cover. The Back cover is also missing. Batman #2: This example has 32 of the 34 original pages including the front cover.
The back cover is a golden age cover but not the original cover to Batman #2. The first and 4th Batman stories are complete and present.
The middle 2 Batman Stories are stories from Detective Comics #42 & 43 and have been attached to the middle of the comic. To summarize, there are 4 complete stories but only 2 are native to Batman #2. Batman #3: The example has 33 of the 34 original pages including the front and back cover.There is a cut out on an ad page that effects the first story. The missing page has the second half of the Just like junior story and an ad page. There is a large cutout on the last page of the 1st story that effects that art. The pages are light tan to slightly brittle.
Batman #4: This example has 17 of the 34 original pages including the front and back cover. The first and last Batman stories are present and complete. The 2 other Batman stories are missing.
