An original page of Bill Sienkiewicz art (page #27) from Alan Moore's classic series Big Numbers. This page - from the unpublished issue #3 - has never been seen in public before now, existing only as a photocopied reprint online. Context for the page is provided by the accompanying lettered page. I was the original series editor at Tundra publishing, where the series was to be continued after the first two books were published by Alan's Mad Love imprint. The story of what happened with the series has been written about at great length, and the book generates an amazing amount of interest even to this day.
Alan Moore's "lost" magnum opus remains an intriguing mystery - having personally viewed Alan's amazing 12-issue plan I can attest to the fact that it was (and is) a story of sheer brilliance, breathtaking in its scope. For 25 years, these pages have remained unseen by the public. I have kept them on display in my studio. I have chosen one of the pages that I feel best represented Bill Sienkiewicz's amazing craft - the semi-airbrushed, mixed media style and brilliant character representations make this one of my favorite pages from #3.The item "Original Art Page from legendary unpublished comic series Big Numbers #3" is in sale since Monday, March 14, 2016.
